Your hero used to be a name and a set of numbers. Now they own things, and what they own changes who they are.
Nine Slots
Head, chest, legs, feet and hands. A weapon, and an off-hand for the shield or the second blade. Two slots for the small things — a ring, an amulet, a belt, a cloak, whatever you have talked someone out of.
Nine in total, all of them worth filling, none of them filled by accident. A full set is a real project and it is meant to be.
The Only Question That Matters
You are standing over a body, or a chest, or a shop counter, and you are holding a sword. The question is never "what does this sword do". The question is "is this better than the one on my hip".
So that is what the game answers. Look at anything you could equip and you get its numbers and the difference against what you are already wearing — up in one colour, down in another, laid out beside each other rather than left for you to work out.
That sounds small. It is the difference between an inventory you use and an inventory you close. Every item screen in the game answers that question the same way, whether you are on a desktop with a hover tooltip or thumbing through it on a phone.
Everything In One Place
Opening your character now opens one panel with all of it: portrait and stat bars on the left, your equipped gear and attributes in the middle, your bag on the right. Gold is on it. Use and drop are on it. You are not hunting through three screens to work out whether you can afford to be here.
When you want the bag on its own — sorting, comparing, deciding what to leave behind — there is still a full inventory view, grouped by rarity so that the good things are not buried under forty pieces of hide.
Things That Stack
Potions, food, ore, hides and the rest stack, because a bag with eleven separate entries for "rabbit pelt" is not an inventory, it is a punishment. Gear does not stack — every sword is its own sword.
Loot now has a point beyond the coin it sells for. Go and find something better than what you are wearing, which at the moment is probably not difficult.
